Blowdown Valve

A blowdown valve is a specialized high-pressure valve used primarily in steam boiler systems. Its purpose is to remove water from the boiler to clear out accumulated sludge, scale, and high concentrations of dissolved solids that can damage the boiler or reduce efficiency.

Unlike standard valves, blowdown valves must be able to handle "flashing" (liquid turning to steam) and the abrasive nature of scale particles moving at high velocities.
